    The border route takes longer due to all of the towns you have to go through. The "inland" route is only a few miles longer and faster.

    Y'all are makin this way too difficult. 359 to 285 in Hebronville to 281 S in Falfurrias down through Edinburg & McAllen. Jump on I-2 and run over to Brownsville. There's an inspection station on 281 just S of Falfurrias. DOT also likes to sit just N of Edinburg.

    I went with the first response early this morning. I took the "Inland" route. Thanks for your replies. I'm long gone from Brownsville by now:D
