National rates are $2.00 a mile according to DAT. I don't see how LS has a hold over shippers to force them to pay $6 mile. I pull a flat lots of loads are around $3 a mile. Sometimes you get $4.50 after DH it's $3.

We're talking about hazmat LTL loads, do you think the rates for them are $2/mile?

No, your talking about van with multi stop. Saying they pay you 2.50 and make 6 to 7. DAT is stating van is 2 a mile. If ltl was so hot why did YRC go under? To many companies are still closing, shippers have the leverage not the truckers. I don't buy the 6 or 7.

You never worked at Yellow, clearly.

They funneled a lot of money out of that company in very creative ways. And the last domino was when the government wanted the 700 million they shouldnt have gotten in COVID relief back.

I just got home from a Landstar van run that paid 4.25 a mile in Florida. The rates ARE coming up. At least here they are...

Rates are a long way from coming up…. This summer will be a blood bath….Chicagoland area has less than 100 loads for reefers every day. Some are posted twice or 3 times….there should be at least 700 loads posted….people aren’t realizing what’s going on with this “economy”
So if you’re getting decent rates from LS you might want to bust your donkey off while you can make some money….

Im not talking about the scrub boards. Im talking about Landstars board. The rates are coming up... I havent moved much beyond doing a dedicated run for Coke I had back in Minneapolis for over a year. And a few weeks ago here most of the rates were in the sub 2 dollar mark. But the past few weeks they have been rising. 3.50 - 4.00+ isnt uncommon.

Maybe. But I got 1200 brokers, I dont have to worry about getting paid, and I know going in exactly what Im going to get... And about 80% of what I do is hook and drops ;)
