I am a fairly satisfied 2014 T680 owner and I started to look after my new rig. I was excited to see the upgrades with the next gen and the prospect of fuel saving. However I saw a couple on the road and truck stops and seems the new aerodynamic bits and pieces are falling apart on these technically brand new trucks. I regretted not to take pictures, but next time I will. Any experience to anyone?

I noticed when the Cascadias came out with the super aero front bumper, it was only like an inch off the ground, and didn't have a very long life span.
The other thing is who is driving said new 680's???
If they are mega drivers, the trucks could be getting thrashed pretty well. -
How’s that downspeed Cummins holding up I vaguely remember you getting awesome mpg at low rpm .

The new T680s I saw were all company trucks. But still. And not just the low sitting parts.
As my truck is closing to the million miles. One injector and one or two sensors beside the regular nox sensors a few times, doc/dpf and scr. My last quarter IFTA was 9.36mpg.Tug Toy, Magoo1968 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -

Still in the 9’s sweet that unit was a money-making machine. I followed your thread way back when you were speccing it out and everyone was on you about the down speeding ratio . Good to hear that they were wrong about driveline self destructing .

...Of course there were more small issues. Cummins replaced the turbo actuator under warranty and the fuel pump in a recall campaign.
The down speeding works to me, because the biggest hills I see is in Kentucky, Tennessee, and I adjusted my driving style to accommodate it. I do not let it to suffer under high torque with low RPM. I just gear back a half, or more if needed. Also surely, I do not know where is the floor under my pedal and never ever go higher than 1500. I can see, how a bad driver could kill it rather quickly. My truck case is just a proof, how the right spec for the job and driver works.Magoo1968 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
