The ignition switch cylinder in my W900 is loose as in when it’s in the run position the Cat ID screen will turn on and off while running down the road. Also I have to really jiggle it to get to the accessory position. Is this something I can fix with just replacing the tumblers, or should I replace the whole ignition cylinder? I assume I can only get the parts through Kenworth, and they ain’t cheap. Thank you.

The ignition cylinder assembly is worn out, also if you have a lot of keys and other things hanging off your keychain it puts extra stress on the internals.

Don't wait till the cylinder freezes up and won't turn with the key in there, replace it.

That’s what I figured. I just bought the truck, and they had 10 keys hanging off the ring. I already removed them all so it’s just the ignition key. I drives me nuts when people have 5 lbs of keys hanging off their ignition then they wonder why their key won’t turn.

    Thanks
