Any of you ever hear of Kustom Trucks?
www.kustomtruck.com
They push the C-16 motors and they seem to be put together great. Any of you know anybody that has got a truck from them or a motor?

I've bought a 1lw 3406e 550 from them back in 2005 when I repowered my k100e.
They are a very professional outfit that know what they are doing. If your considering an engine or a glider, talk to Harold. He's a very knowledgable fellow that won't steer you wrong. They also have a website now for just parts, they seem to have good prices on cat stuff.NFDDJS Thanks this. -
I spoke to Harold recently, pricing a KW T660 glider with Sig 600 Cummins. His price was a little over the head of what I expected. Around a whopping $190.000-200.000 out the door before taxes. Though they're very professional, I think I'll look elsewhere for putting a glider together. From his explanation it goes like this:
Rolling glider (no engine, tranny) 2013 KW T660 - $105.000 - 110.000
"His part" the way he puts it - is $85.000 includes pre 2004 Cummins Sig 600/2050, Eaton 13 speed and all the needed wiring and plumbing for the project build. That puts it around $200.000!
From my conversation with several Cummins dealers, I know that Sig 600 is around $25.000 another $15.000 max for the tranny. The labor I would guess another $5.000-10.000 grand. That puts the whole thing around $160.000 maximum out of the door. His price is just way over.Last edited: Oct 6, 2012

I didn't say they were cheap. They do top notch work. Yes they are pricey.

Cummins Sikeston MO as well as my lockal Cummins dealer quated me $4.000 for swapping compleate engine with piping and wiring. Meaning taking out mine and puting the new one in, included in that $4k. KW of Toronto ON Canada sent me an estemate for for the same glider/engine/trany combo at just above $160 grand before taxes with basic warranty. The only difference is, KW dealer can only go with EPA 2004 ISX, otherwise everything is the same deal.

I have seen kustoms work first hand and they do really high end work. They will custom paint the engine to match truck. Ceramic coat all exhaust piping and turbo ect ect. The truck would end up looking better then anything coming off the assembly line at kw or Pete.
Are they worth that much more? Well that's in the eyes of the beholder.NFDDJS Thanks this. -
