Don't know how we don't have a thread about them already.
I even searched the Forums for Frys and Kroger.
This is from the Lumper Receipt.

I'm more or less used to waiting.
But 10 hours is pretty ridiculous.
I guess that's pretty normal for there though. so..
I would have gotten checked in quicker..If the Receiving Clerk/Lumper Guy didn't ignore me for 10 minutes.
What else do I say to this? I don't know. If I had a choice in my loads I would never go back there again.
But well, I don't lol. So yeah.

This is one of the reasons i quit hauling refer. That and the overnite runs.

Last time I was there a guy pulled up right after me to check in. The line to get in was out in the street a ways and it took 30-45 minutes to get to the guard shack. He walked in and was told you're 30 minutes late and have to reschedule. He tried to explain that he was in line for 45 minutes and they couldn't care less. I got in with 10 minutes to spare and it took 4 hours to get my 7 pallets off. Yes, like most Kroger facilities this one sucks!
-
Man I remember how bad those lines were when I did otr. Just park the truck and go to sleep, might as well get started on your ten hour break.
Now that I am doing dedicated if I have to wait more than five minutes I am off to go bug a manager and make them unload me. -

This is the worse place ever people take there mother ####en time and don't give a #### #### krogers
-
Yeah, that place is a nightmare. I've had dealings with the same lumper/receiving guy. He's a petty little twat and does that #### because the receiving window is the one place where he has any sort of control over his meaningless, out of control life.
Last time I was there the KLLM driver in line before me was spoiling for a fight. Very unpleasant. It was also 120 outside. Thank god for detention.The_Great_Corn Thanks this. -
We were a team waiting on Americold in Salinas once for just about a hair over 2 whole days and nights going into the third day. Burned all the fuel we had too among other problems that accumulated on that blessed POS loading. The reefer gulped more too. I moved some tractor fuel to feed it to maintain it's -10. 100 gallons almost gone in that time.
I don't do too many talking about Kroger. They are not a nice company in a way. I find them to be a little bit hostile. Espeically when Im strapping and move the whole load myself to small wood, no lumbers (And there would be a batch waiting around...) Thinking back on those days I can think of many other cold storages such as associated, and those in the NE. Sysco is my personal favorite, specifically pokomoke city. You get in at night, corral in the bullpen on the sand, they call out at sunrise, unload you are gone by afternoon. The best in my mind, most accomodating too. I'll do that particular sysco right now knowing that is going to go well. There is a good dennys off 50 prior to southbound there that serves good food at all hours. (Dennys being good are not two words that go together, let's leave it at that.)
With that griping, I love reefer, it was what I did OTR when I did not know anything to worry about the problems that come with them. It's part of the work. Im one of those people that need devils dancing in the details to keep my interest in my work. -
We delivered flowers here before and also had to wait around 10 hours to get unloaded
