I’m really close to signing on for their orientation for a regional position. I already have my CDL-A but it looks like if I quit or am fired before 7 month late I could owe money. Is this normal?

Unbelievable that anyone would even consider being in debt that much for a lousy job. -
If they are paying for you school. Then yes. If you are experienced cdl driver the run away from it....
7 months if they put you through school is just fine -
I already have my CDL-A, paid privately through a school. I have no expand just graduated not even a week ago. Is this still sketchy? She’s says they’ll start me at 48cpm and if I’m a runner (which I plan on being) then my checks will be at the lowest $1,100 after tax. Routes are never west of the Mississippi.

Basically -- they are charging you a pro-rated fee for your training with them.
Depending in part on where you are -- you may well be able to do better than that.
What is your zip code?
Do you have any CDL endorsements -- & if so, what are they?
-- Lualtscottme Thanks this. -
no endorsements but I’m looking into Central Transport so I’ll get my Haz pretty soon. -
Schneider has a terminal right there in Indy:

When I did a search using your Indy zip code, it produced several Schneider jobs that require NO previous experience:

Schneider won't charge you a fee like that described earlier.
-- Lualsnowmantrucking101 Thanks this. -
My old company Averitt Express put inexperienced drivers through a 6 week "finishing school". You got paid for it. They didn't charge the drivers anything for the school or bill them if the drivers leave. I've never heard of a trucking company charging new-hires to be trained. They operate mostly in the Southeast and Midwest.

Any update? I received the same offer and i’m about to accept it, is it worth it?
