Just wondering pros vs cons of each and is the KR version worth the extra 30.00 ? Do they both have a universal plug or is that just the KR branded one etc ..

    Thanks

I got mine from Ebay... it's the Scangauge D and has two different dataport plugs (it's a 2-sided plug, one side hits the 9 pin, the other hits a 6 pin dataport)... To be honest, from the descriptions I've heard (and this is STRICTLY based on what I assume is incomplete information, so don't go nuts on me if I'm wrong), there's not much difference between the 2 versions other than a few extra (possible) gauges in the KR version that, I believe, can be obtained from the manufacturer for free if you pull a PID report from the device (the instructions tell you how to do that)...I'm perfectly happy with mine as is, but I may send the PID info at some later date.... hope that helps to muddy the pool a bit!

It's not mine. I got it for a friend at Louisville show off KR. He got out of driving and I drive a company truck so not much use to me.

If I drove for a company with a fuel bonus I'd use it.

Ill be honest I really don't care for mine the boost gauge only goes to 32lbs next problem I have is it only has a 48" cord or so in my Freightliner my port is behind the driver seat at the door so by the time you run it the thing only makes it to the bottom of the dash and can't just look at it because its behind the wheel and down low. The next problem is my door panel hits it when you shut the door I pulling my port and is just laying there now. I've had mine over a year and still can't figure out how to read codes or all that other stuff you can do with them, ya it was cool when I first got it but now the new is wore off and don't look at it much at all.
The only reason I got mine was it was cheaper than buying gauges.

The KR version has software modifications that make it more useful in a class 8 truck. The readings are buffered using a 8-second sliding average of the values you are displaying. What that does for you is the readings jump around less, and make the gage more useful.

Snake oil? Hardly, it displays the current operating parameters out of your truck's ECM so you can fine tune your driving style. If all you do is push the throttle to the floor or slam on the brakes, you won't need one. I find it's rather useful.
