At 1st it wasn’t a good company but over the years it started to get better! I’ve worked for them a long time and stuck it out over the years but now with their new integrated payroll system.... they proved to be a sorry company to work for once again! Let me explain.... it was fine for regional drivers when getting paid by the mile! The company gave two 5 cent increases over the past year but now that they decided to pay by the hour.... they basically took those pay increases back! When i 1st started here their local drivers were getting paid $14 an hour. It has been like that for years, now they trying to pay their regional drivers the same. I made more by the cpm than i did by the hour..... basically all the regional drivers just got their increases revoked and now have to get bumped down in pay! But in reality...... this company has to live by California law and that law is to pay for overtime after 40 hrs which they are not doing.... they want to pay straight pay no matter how many hours put. You can put up to 70 hrs a week and still get no overtime pay. If that is the case then it ain’t worth driving over the road no more, it’s better to be local and go home every night!! I don’t think it’s fair for OTR drivers who have to spend time away from family and live in their trucks every week to be paid the same as local drivers! If it was a problem for local drivers not making money then they should have bumped up the hourly wage! Not take away from the regional OTR drivers! Bottom line.... they basically screwing the OTR drivers!!

That's why some trucking companies no longer hire drivers with a California CDL.

Sounds like it's time to go local and get paid OT.

Drove my car to Los Angeles last week. I know what the speed limit is, but on I-15 when I had the cruise set on 80 mph, trucks were passing me. Wasn't paying attention and noticed cars were passing me, but no more trucks. Looked at my speedometer and was doing 100 mph. Slowed it back down to 75 mph on cruise and there I was holding up traffic. I just dealt with it because even 75 is too fast.

Kkw is active on their youtube and social media image. Looks like they are agressively creating a new driver friendly image.

I dont see someone running more 2200 a miles week.

I run Nor-Cal to LA and back 2 or 3 times a week, I-5 all the way. I run a consistent 62-65 and I almost never get passed. I'm just a bit sceptical that 15 is that much faster.

Lol, they offered me $15 an hour for OTR. And the best part, it’s variable schedule which starts around 11PM each night. I told them suck it.

So if a company is based in California they have to pay hourly, even if the guy is otr?

Cause I know guys in California that are paid cpm.

I don't think that's the crux. I think if the company is based in California, then they're under California's thumb.

Another reason for the mass exodus of mega carriers from Socal a few years ago.
