My ignition key is on its own, no other key or key ring, it also never leaves the ignition.
A bunch of keys (if to big) can be bad for your ignition and even a key ring or extra key can leave nasty scratches and scars on your dash for life.
My door key hangs on a strap either round my neck or on my chair (any where that's convenient and won't scratch anything)
This also helps when you have just stopped and need to leave the truck in a hurry (run into the shop for 5mins) you don't need to sit and iddle your truck down, u simply leave it running to shut down when its ready (don't leave it like this for hours, I wouldn't want my ignition on all that time) or if you goin to be real qwick set your cruise to stop it shutting down.
My tool box keys, fuel tank keys, spare wheel keys etc are all next to the seat, easy to acces when outside the truck. I also buy locks with a master key to reduce amount of keys needed. Padlocks should be covered by a plastic coin bag and zip tied to stay clean and dry.
One more trick up your sleeve- I keep a 3rd key zip tied in a not so accessable place on the outside, in the event I loose, forget or misplace my key, I'm not locked out.
Not all keys are easily available, mine had to be ordered from Switzerland but its worth it.
Many keys can just be duplicated at your local key den.
Well good luck friends.
Truck safely and responsibly.

Same way I run, cept for the locations. Ignition key in the ignition, spare key with sidebox keys in my right pocket, pickup/house/office keys on the left sleeper shelf. Always in the same place or I end up spending half an hour digging for them.

I'm guilty of the 5lb key ring. I got keys on there I don't even know what they fit anymore, I got little multi-tool, a pewter skull the kids got me for christmas one year, and a spark plug gap tool from snap-on.

My dad has a neat place to hang his keys. Its handcarved wood and is engraved "Estan los pinches llaves" which means "Here are the ####### keys"

I have several key rings...one for each vehicle I have. Each of those key rings ONLY has the keys needed for that vehicle. Not even a house key goes on those rings. Ignition, door, any fuel or tool box...but ONLY keys for that vehicle. The ring with the MOST keys on it? 4. Those are the key rings I use in the ignitions.
Then I have one of these with a key to everything...vehicles, houses, and every lock I own...and I keep it in my shirt pocket:
I don't jingle while I walk, and I'm not constantly looking for keys to whatever vehicle needs moving or house needs entering.
When I head out on the road, I keep a spare truck key on one boot and a spare house key on the other boot. I'd much rather hide my spare keys on my person rather than on the vehicle or at the house. I don't care HOW slick you think you are when hide a key, a criminal will find it because he's looking at the same vehicle or house and trying to figure out where you'd assume he wouldn't look for it. Want my key? You'll have to go through me to get it. If someone is going to break in and steal from me, I want them to leave evidence of a forced entry...evidence that will hopefully lead back to the person who did it. -
That's a great idea bulldog. I've never seen a key keeper like those before.
