If it has H11 you must use H11. It's socket/style type has nothing to do with how bright it is. But "bright" typically means whiter, not brighter in most cases. Lumens = brightness. The whiter (more unnatural) the light is the more it fatigues your eyes! Keep that in mind. I like Silverstars. They have a little more reach but not stupidly white either.

Also keep in mind that if you blind people with them, then you are a problem on the road. Blind someone at the right time and you could cause an accident.

I have mixed emotions about typical headlights. I admit, 70% of factory headlights (low beam) are aimed just a bit too low or have too low brightness factor, and are not as effective as they could be. However, I see more than a few trucks with low beams that are too bright and/or aimed too high. It's a catch 22 situation. I've learned to live with mine (factory bulbs and setting) that are not very effective on low, but great on high.

These lights are getting ridiculous anymore. Every single night you can count on at least a dozen Aussie road train wannabes with lows that are brighter than my highs and a couple sets of fog lights blaring. I got turtle passed this morning by a Volvo with 6, what looked like 8" Hellas mounted to the visor. All that effort and he can't get some bailing wire to keep his dance party headlight from strobing in my mirror. We're on 70 in Eastern Ohio on a clear night. What are you doing?

Not saying you're inconsiderate too OP, but be mindful when picking out some new lows. I personally wouldn't want the guy I'm passing to not be able to see properly and purposely not checking his mirrors.

That's my problem I can't adjust my mirrors for the lights of the truck, and even in the pickup I can not judge where I am at in relation to the traffic in the next lane so I just stay put. I had a CB discussion the other morning with a road train wantabe who had four sets of lights on and I heard him complaining while i was on 10 meters, I got him on the radio and told him I and the guy next to me are not moving for him because we can't see much let alone enough to let him pass.
