    hey guys and girls,
I've been a long time reader of this site and finally decided to join...

Im looking to buy my first truck and would appreciate any info (good or bad)

its a clean looking 2009 T2000 with a fresh inframe from cat (C15/435/ 13 spd) with paperwork and still under warranty till march 2016...

    truck itself shows 699k,
what are some of the major things to look for on this type of truck?
I know the t2k isn't the best looking horse but other than cosmetic appearance is there anything major to look for with this type of truck?.

thanks a lot to all,,,,happy trucking

Everything. Look at anything 16 years old and doesn't show issues... Well, maybe your truck won't have a meth problem, but who knows!

Seriously though. Everything. Crawl under it, over it, through it and between it ( torque arms!!)

    lots of character, thanks..

seems like these motors don't have a huge fan base, I hear a lot of bad about the dual turbo,
this unit only has a single turbo..ill take a closer look at this truck to see if anything looks fishy..

if it has a single turbo then the emission setup has been deleted and that will eliminate a lot of the issues that plagued those engines. The downside is you can't run in Cali or a state that does routine emission testing. If the DPF is still active I'd find another truck since those are the worst Cat engines out there in terms of reliability.

As for the rest for the rest of the truck look it over really good, there are a lot of things that can go wrong.

I always get skeptical when I see a truck being sold right after the inframe. Makes me wonder..,

You know there aren't actually two separate turbos right? It still kinds looks like one turbo. At least on our 2005 MXS Accert.

Yeah, concur... that's an SDP Cat... I'd look elsewhere. Not a big fan of that truck with any engine, personally. Flimsy interiors, 90 degree fittings on top of the transmission which routinely start pissing out air, but the exhaust on those is often routed in a manner which makes them difficult to get to, the T700 really simplified taking the side fairings off, which was beneficial, not to mention it moved the headlights to the hood, because having them on the bumper is just stupid... by the way, if that bumper becomes damaged to the point of needing replacement, they're going to try pushing an entire hood on you when you go to order parts... the dealership won't sell the bumper with the headlight mounts separately.
