Well, I may have been stupid, but I sold my Pete and made money on it, now I have a Kenworth W900L, 6nz 18sp 3.36 rears. The only thing that I have found that I dont like on it so far is the exhaust. For 1, I hate the muffler, its still stock so it will have a horse shoe put in. For 2, I think that this truck sat through all of Katrina, everything below the bottom of the battery box is rusty especially the exhaust, so bad that I put my thumb through the Y pipe just climbing around under it.

My question is... where can I find aftermarket exhaust parts? The 2 places that I have looked are Grand Rock and 4states. The expansion pipes are no problem, I have a roll of that stuff, its the funky bent parts that I cant make and will have to purchase. Any and all ideas will be great.

Why does it have to be aftermarket? All the undercab pipes are pretty cheap at a KW dealer.

I never even thought about OEM, I assumed, and ya know what happens when you assume...... that the factory parts (like the pete) were higher'n a cats back. I will give them a shot tomorrow.

Last week I bought the 2' bent section that comes of the flex pipe on my T6 for $30. I didn't think that was too bad.

Have a 2000 900B Aerodyne cab here. The clowns at KW must have stayed up all night to come up with such a muffler. Muffler under the cab, inlet and outlet on the same end...:biggrin_25513:. I have revamped some, but still not exactly what i would like...

i replaced mine with a regular muffler from pitts power on my W900L hung it in the same place where the oem one was welded 2 elbows together and ran the pipe back to the y pipe gained almost 1mpg and no more back pressure.

KW wanted $160 for just the Y, I can get the Y and the leg that goes to the left side from 4states for like 110, havent priced shipping yet, that may be the catch. I did get the horse shoe, no more muffler under, its all rusted out on the back side, just like everything else below the battery box. Going to give the straight a try for a few days, I may be back in the shop fabricating something like superhauler is talking about.

I agreee with blackdog.... who ever designed this was smokin something, there is nothing universal about any of it, it all has to be fabricated or bought from kw or for a kw.

I bought one of Bruce's big U shaped mufflers. once i had it under truck it was to long to clear wet system etc. A guy close to me does alot of custom machine work and metal work. He shortened muffler so it would fit. He said next time he would make me a good muffler...:biggrin_25525:. He is a very clever and smart SOB. I am sure it will be a work of art.
My radiator water pipes were getting rusty and he made me some beautiful stainless replacements. They will outlive the truck many times over.

And I thought my parts were expensive.... I like the idea of a Marmon or an Autocar, I will have to ponder on that one while camping this weekend. Talk to yall next week.
