as you drive the truck it gets a shake and then a hop and then it feels like it is binding up in the rear. have to accelerate more to get it to go. we have replaced sway bar bushing, both rear ends, wheel bearings, new clutch, new leaf springs, new shackles, rear U joint, and the U joint just off the transmission. Had an alignment done. ran it on blocks and tires are not out of round. drive line is in phase. pulled all four axles and ran a carpenter square and they are all true. tore pto apart and it is functioning properly. can a bad kingpin cause the binding issue?

Disconnect and remove the short driveline between the drives to see if this continues...then re-post, thanks.

The Kingpin will cause your front end to hop around but I don't exactly understand how that's related to the rear end binding up. It's easy enough to check your kingpins Just Jack your front end up and put a bar underneath your wheel and see if you have play in the Kingpin.

Did you replace your carrier bearing and have your drive shafts balanced, even the small one between the Rears?

tried that and didn't make a difference. put interlock in and drove it and no change.

carrier bearing has a little slop. the binding is not coming from the rear end specifically. feels like it is coming from the back of the truck. truck is fine when you initially take off and then it after the truck has been running at highway speed for a half hour or so then it feels like it is binding up.

I would suggest to make sure your bearings are good and that they are adjusted correctly.

Bearings expand when they get hot, and if they are adjusted too tightly they won't roll freely and you will burn them out.

And if your carrier bearing has play then you should replace it.

Before you completely move away from (and eliminate) the rears as suspect, lets discuss the "angles" that the rears have been mounted in regards to the suspension and driveline since everything has been replaced...some of these items are built with a intentional "fixed taper" for proper installation and can be installed backwards resulting in too great of an angle for the driveline. Is all of this standard equipment or modified/upgraded for heavier loads. I have seen these simple mistakes (it happens), from tired eyes with the best intentions. Re-evaluate the build-up process and all the items REQUIRED for installation (not just what was there), from there it can only be the clutch/transmission, which presents its own inspection and re-evaluation. YOUR the only eye's we've got.

You didn't mention replacing the Ujoints to eliminate them. Checking the pinion shaft for play and tightness.

    JohnC123 Thanks this.

Id check to see if the interlock is fully disengaging.... Or if there may be an air leak causeing it to slowly engage while your driving.
