There is some sort of valve that restricts the flow of air to the suspension and cab air bags until
the tank PSI reaches around 90PSI.
Does anyone know what kind of valve this is or where it could be located?
I saw a "T" valve on my primary tank with 1/4" air lines coming out of it and it looks like it could be
a pressure valve but the air lines are way too small to run the 8 air bags on my suspension.
KW sent me a valve (Bendix 280809) but this doesn't appear to be correct.

That part number is for a double check valve, not what you need. You are looking for a pressure protection valve, (PR-4), probably a 286500RX. It is usually located on a port of the secondary air tank, then the line goes up to air ride valve(s). Could be anywhere though.

1-is the SC-PR valve for the air dryer connection (one-way check valve with some bleed for AD-SP)
1-is a large hose...perhaps 1/2" or larger but it goes up into the frame and then ??
My primary (rear) air tank has a few more fittings:
1-is a 1/4" air line that I presume feeds my gauge
1-is a 1/2" air line that has a normal one-way check valve on it
1 is a 1/2" air line that goes up into the frame and then ??
1-is a "T" style fitting that is screwed into the tank with 2 (1/4") outputs and some sort of red rubber cap thingy
on the top. I had presumed this could be the 90psi valve but has such small outputs I cant see that running my 8 air bags.
...this is all I have found so far. I cant even find where the wet tank "T"s off to each primary/secondary yet..Last edited: Jan 19, 2013

I'm not familiar with how KW plumb their air systems specifically. Most air suspensions are fed by a 3/8 line, cab could be 1/4. You might have to start at the ride height valve and work your way back to the tanks to find that valve.

How the #### does a teeny 1/4" line feed and run my 8 full air bags? - No wonder they fill slow.
Seems to me I recall seeing large air lines TO the bags but that those air lines were fed with smaller lines.
Ok. Now I just need to find that sorta valve. It has adapters on it for the 1/4" air lines but doesnt look like your normal
PR-4 valve. It looks more like a "T" but it does have a valve in it. -
Yup , it's a kenworth thing, lol!! Like I said, go look at the leveling valve and it will have all 1/4 inch lines to and from it. On the newer 8 bag the lines going from the bags on the back axle to the front axle are way bigger. That is so the air will transfer quicker as you go over bigger bumps. Sorta like a walking beam suspension. Hope this helps you.

That valve that looks like a tee on my truck also has little tiny shut offs on it so if you blow a bag you can shut the supply off to get you home. Had that on two trucks now from the factory.

Yes. I replaced the sleeper leveler valve + CAB air bags over the summer and it did have 1/4" air lines.
I am surprised my suspension 8 bag (AG 400) is fed off of another 1/4" air line....but looking at my setup I am still not sure.
There is a large plastic hose headed toward the rear from the primary air tank.
Again, where it goes is anyone guess at this point.
I need a really strong light but the 10+yrs of residual gook doesnt help. -
