Anybody know anything about this outfit in Canada ?
http://www.keewest.com/
Apparently GLOVIS ( the logistics arm of Hyundai and KIA ) has bought this car haul outfit to haul their own product as well as other manufactures.
This is the latest rumor around the rail head. Apparently GLOVIS plans to make KEE WEST North America wide !!

Interesting. I'll do some checking around.
Speedloader Thanks this. -
From a drivers standpoint this can be a really good thing. Take Toyota Transport for example. They are a very good company to drive for from what I know about them. I shared an office with them at the UP yard in Phoenix when I was with Hadley. The difference is a company like that is delivering their own product. They are not all about revenue as a for hire carrier is. They are about getting their product to their dealers in a professional manner. If Glovis does follow this path it should be interesting
jonboy29, Speedloader and Hammer166 Thank this. -
I saw a michigan based United Road in Ontario. It looked like a brokers truck with a bunk and it was plated Manitoba. all the other U/R trucks I have seen are US plated...... hummm, maybe they are attempting a coup from the north?

Jack Cooper is starting to plate Canadian trucks now out of Quebec too

I have seen more and more CCT around the Fort Erie area this week. I have spotteded 2 Allieds and one or two Cassens, but those western stars are taking over......
Have seen a new carrier to Canada, Virginia? They are yellow petes hauling Toyota's south -
Update ***
Glovis doesn't own them and they don't have a signed glovis contract. They have been lying to their drivers for years over this, but we're forced to back peddle when the drivers found out that any carrier was able to call glovis and get a load.
They do have the Dodge contract in 3 of the 4 western provinces but the rates have been cut by about %20 from the last carrier .
They do have a US DOT # but haven't travelled a US mile in 5 years. The one upside is they do have a good relationship with adesa and are the preferred carrier so there is lots of auction freight for them but once again the rates aren't there.
I could go on into more specifics but I'll reserve that for PM's
