Well I had kind of a short week. I came off of my 34 Tuesday morning, I had two stops at two different coal mines in Wva.. After I got empty at the second coal mine they bounced me to the port in Baltimore to load a New Holland farm tractor going to the Eastern shore of Va. (there getting me in the general direction of the house, since im due home on Friday). I loaded and delivered the tractor on Wed. and then received a deadhead move to our yard in Sanford N.C. to pick up a preloaded trailer going to the Marine Corps logistics base in Albany Ga.. I got to the Sanford yard about 1700 switched trailers, secured the load and took a well deserved shower. I wanted to get at least 100 miles down the road before calling it a night. I made it to Laurenburg N.C. and was really beat, so I decided to get some rest, get up early and hopefully make to Albany before the 1500 cut off Thursday evening. I was able to make it to the consignee, get unloaded and be rolling back out of the gate by 1500. I was headed to our yard in Pooler Ga. (just outside of Savannah) I was to pick up a load Friday that would get me through the house for some long overdue home time. For a short week, I had a decent week of 2159 miles. I will leave back out Tuesday morning and deliver this load to our yard in Sanford N.C.
On a side note I also got the first installment of a $1000.00 recruiting bonus ($250.00) that was somewhat unexpected. About two months I was sitting at the T/A in Greencastle Pa. organizing my side box when a tanker driver backed in next to me and started asking questions about Keen. We spent about an hour talking and said he was going to put in an application, so I gave him my name and truck number. Well about two weeks ago I ran into him at the Carlisle, he had just finished orientation the week before. I don't go out and try to openly recruit drivers, but if one stops and asks me about Keen I will give them an honest opinion. I will tell them the pros and cons of working here and the ups and downs of pulling over sized loads.
Well the wife is asking me to fire up the grill and start the brauts, I hope everyone has a safe and productive week.MoneyCat Thanks this. -

Just got picked up by Cressler myself. Starting orientation on Monday. Tom said I'll be going through the same orientation that the Keen drivers do which sounds cool to me. I was hoping to get on with Keen in the near future once I got a bit more flatbed exp under my belt, and I think being with Cressler would make hopping over to heavy haul that much easier. If yer in Carlisle next week and got a chance to say hi, feel free to do so.
I'm the short skinny guy with the short cut hair and the goatee. Did I mention I'm ugly as hell too? -
