Does anyone know of any Kansas City truckibg companies that offer great home time, decent pay, and treat their drivers good. I live on the Johnson County side of Kansas City and would like to find a company where i can average $800-$1000 / week and be home weekends and throughout the week...maybe every other day. I appreciate any info.

I would try, Keystone Automotive Operations. They are located at 90 Shawnee KCKS. Small company. They may not have openings. ACT is a good company over by Worlds of Fun if you want over the road. Pulse trucking is good for LTL.

Butler is OTR. Start off in low 30s. Treat drivers well but not home on weekends

I appreciate it guys! I've heard good things about ACT, but not sure if they can do the hometime. I will check into the others. Another thing is that I have been off the road since 2008. I've noticed a lot of companies now say they want recent experience (6 months in last 3 yrs or 3 months in the last 12 months). Is my total experience no good anymore? Anyone know a way to get around this?

You'll have a hard time catching on with a reputable company given the lapse in time since you were in the industry. Even the bottom feeders are gonna want you to re-train. Once you get through that, I'd be looking exclusively at LTL carriers.

It's been several years but they have offices all over the country. You can basically work whatever days you want to, if a company likes you then they might hire you on.
