    Hello,

Looking to buy a Dodge Ram 2500, and a 7x12 dump trailer with 4ft sides, and start up a junk removal business here in Florida.

Does anyone have any experience with Junk Removal, and the profit you made, and the downfalls? I have a few connections already if I wanted it but would need to get the trailer but I want to know if it's worth it. Also, I wouldn't be dropping the trailer off and having them load it! I would be doing all the labor, and hauling.

My prices in my head would be this:
$100 just to show up, and $30/hr for labor.

So if it's only a 1-hour job the customer has to only pay $130.00 which I don't think is too bad. I'm wanting to charge the $100 just to show up fee just because of gas.

I do. You got stiff competition out there 1800got junk is the heavy hitter. If you can identify the recyclable product you can make some extra from your work. You gotta be the most effective and efficient out there. Check out who is doing it and there prices and figure it out from there.
    Good luck

Yeah, I see 1800 charged $136 starting and up to $600 for a full load.

I was going to just charge by the hour, and see where that gets me.

Will you be by yourself or have a helper with you?
If you charge by the hour, what will you do if customer thinks you are dragging your feet to pad the bill?
Some people will want a quote before you start to compare with other junk removal co.

It'll be me, and I will not be dragging my feet by any means I will be working non stop, and take breaks in between driving to other locations.

You would be wise to just have the basic fee, the loaded full fee and probably the time.

If the customers value your time, they will have it all set ready for you to toss into box.

Scrap metal if you can find it is the one thing that might get you more than your working rate at value. It would be pretty good.

The only issue I would see as a problem is the State. Hopefully material you are taking is not stolen. I would not think it would be because the customer who has it is paying you. If it was a scrap thief or a copper rat they are long gone to sell to yard themselves.
