It was on interstate 78, think'n exit 12, a real old school truck stop, the last time I was in ther was about 10 years ago & my waitress had been work'n ther for 20 or 30 years she told me, no tell'n how many tanker loads of coffee she's poured over the years.

Pilot took it over about four years ago and ruined it.

Well that's a coincidence... My first job (besides working for my father) was fueling trucks at Johnny's Truck Stop. That's where I really got the idea that trucking was for me. I worked the night shift for a guy named Charlie. He was a Chesterfield chain smokin' character but he taught me how to fuel a truck without spilling.any fuel on the shiny fuel tanks and check the oil and do windshields with a razor blade. Those bugs were mighty thick and tough to get off those cab overs in 1969... Old John lived there and he was sort of the truck stop handyman and the truckers really liked him.

The restaurant closed at midnight but the coffee pot was always on. About 6 years ago it was still there, I used to deliver gasoline to the gas station across the street from it.

I remember Johnnys. Clinton NJ I believe. I hear it's a pilot which isnt good for it.

I generally waited until either Midway or Harrisburg myself, not too much further down the road.

Last time I was in there it was a Pilot and a mess to get in to and back out of. I quit going in there after that, instead went on down to the T/A if I had to stop in NJ.
