Just looking for as much information as I can get about JCT. Good and bad. I have heard a lot of good and very little bad. Needing information about things such as rider policy, fuel stops, medical insurance offered to lease purchase drivers? Whats the road test consist of? What are the lease trucks governed at?
Any driver who has went through the lease and purchased the truck at the end would be great to hear from.
Thanks

HERE is a thread I've been reading... He currently works/drives for JCT.

Thanks, I read that thread earlier or most of it and I still had further questions so I posted this post.
If I don't get any more answers here then I will probably go back and read more of that thread. -
As an ic it would violate tax laws for carrier to offer u insurance.....would cross realm of making you an employee
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
So its a federal law that you have to be an "employee" of said company, group or agency to be offered heath care benefits? Hmmm.... Interesting. I worked for a local company "non driving job" for several years. We were a member of the local chamber of commerce, our insurance benefits were offered through that membership at a group discount rate. I wasn't an "employee" of the chamber and neither was the company I worked for.

Your issue is with the irs....,,trucking is a diffrent animal and big dollars are at stake .....any line like mandatory fuel stops forced routing andso on could make you an emoloyee in the irs mindset including access to any "benefits" package also could cross that line

Hubby and I lease, so are 'contractors'. We tried to get individual insurance and sure we COULD get underwritten for it, but it was WAY to expensive ... As in over $1000/mo EACH! We couldn't (as our own company, sole proprietor) get underwritten either. Because of 'expected changes' coming the first of the year. Instead we incorporated and became an LLC with two 'employees'. One of the benefits we provide our 'employees' is paid health insurance. Its a convoluted way to do it, with lots of paperwork and rules, but we now have health insurance that we/the LLC can afford!

I'd be interested in talking to you more about that here in a month or so..

I am a current L/O with JCT. Message me if you have specific questions about JCT. If I can answer them, I will. If I can't, I'll try to refer you to someone who can. I can tell you that I have been happy with JCT and that they have kept me busy.
cmoore6971 Thanks this. -
bad it's still trucking some days are great some more trying. Rider policy covers spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, children over 7 during normal school breaks like summer vacation.fuel stops are any place that accepts EFS or you supply your own cash, there are medical plans available but not cost shared as we are contractors not employees. In my 6 years I have continued to be successful and profitable here at JCt. I hope these answers help
