I am new to this and have had only one short driving job so far through a temp agency. On employment applications they ask the question;
Were you subject to the FMCSRs in this position?
I am not sure how to answer because I am not sure if I was or not. How do I tell? The agency is also new to this so I don't think they know either. There is another question that goes with this about drug testing which I can handle.

was the driving position a cdl position if it was then yes you were under fmcsr also any if you transported any hazmat even in a non cdl vehicle.
-
It was CDL but local 100 mile rule. Wasn't sure if that made a difference.
-
Answer yes! local makes no difference
-
Vehicles over 26,001 lbs GVWR are required to have a CDL and are subject to the rules of FMCSA. The same what TennMan said about hazmat and any placarded vehicle.
Exempted are farmers, firefighters, military and personal RV owners.
Driving around in something over 10,001 lbs only requires a medical card.
Those are federal rules. States have their own little stipulations, but you got idea. -
No, just hired by Fedex ground driving a stepvan no cdl required but FMCSR do apply123456 Thanks this.
