If you buy 60 gallons of fuel the parking is free and you get a 10%discount in the restaurant.

They explained they had to raise revenue because the cost of cleaning the lot was getting so expensive. They didn't say so, but I'll bet there was a lot of trucks parking overnight not buying fuel.

I stop at JJ's Everytime I go that way. For me they have the best price of fuel from Rochelle to Texas..

Yeah if u ever get the chance. Wake up real early about 2 am and try to get out of there, was always trucks parked 3 deep everywhere. It sure get crazy sometimes. Like stayinback said its alot of money they could make just off parking. I wonder if it will do the opposite though and drive away business.

When I stay there, I always park way in the back.
Might bring more customers. If I know I can park where I fuel, that's a bonus.
    And it will be cleaner.

I don't see it as a money grab. It can be free parking.

I see it as a good thing. It will keep out some of the ones that were trashing the lot, and puts money back into the truck stop.
I stopped at workman’s in Ozark ar last week. Someone had took a dump at the back of my trailer. Who wants to see that when you start your day?

I was never a JJ's fan. But I remember when the Gulf at the 44 was the bees knees.

That place at exit 35 is one of my go tos. A 24 hour cafe with good food will draw me in paid or not, I agree paid does tend to keep the riff raff at bay

I hate that y'all are starting to have to pay to park but I hope it cleans the places up for you. Let the piss dumpers and parking lot crappers sleep on the off ramp.

    xsetra and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

My bet on what educated him was more in line having to pay to have the lot cleaned up every day, after a crowd that only wants a free shower out of the place.
If reading this site is any kind of indicator, it seems like more and more drivers don't even get out of their trucks at truck stops anymore.
Then want to clean out their trucks and just dump the trash out instead of walking to a trash can, p bottles and plastic bags full too. it can't be easy to hire and keep someone to even clean up after some of these guys. I will never have to deal with parking down there again, well except for one more trip if all goes right,
but I fel for you guys, because I expect there will be more and more go to all paid parking.

The restaurant at the 44 is still Norman's. And the food was still good last time I was in there. It is a smoking restaurant though, so if you don't smoke.....
