JJ Truck Stop I30 #106 Malvern AR

The entire lot except for about 10 spots in front of the fuel island is paid parking now, I don't know the price or how they enforce it there is some barriers set up but no gate , I just wanted to do a 30 min break.

 

Aw man...when did they start that? I used to pass by the place all the time going in and out of PrimeLine back there and never saw any kind of paid parking notices or barriers in the lot. (Then again I also ain't been back there in several months either, so...)

 

I hadn't stopped there for a few months so not sure when it started, looks like they filled in all the craters in the gravel part. I was there in the middle of the day , just stayed 30 min and left .

 

I dont blame them. Why provide a free parking lot for drivers who dont spend any money there to trash?

 

If the Mega drivers would only park at their "regulated fuel stop" truckstops......Their would be no need for the mom n pops to start charging parking.

Before Long- You guys aint gonna be able to go anywhere without opening up your wallets come time for sleep.

Sad state of affairs we got going on.........

Used to be truckstops would welcome truckers with Open Arms at the end of the day, ... Industry is destroyed in so many phases these days.....

 

That was back when the truckers would go inside and eat at the restaurant, buy any necessities at the c-store, watch TV in the driver's lounge, do their laundry, fuel their rigs, spend the night, have breakfast, shower, etc...spending money.

Now, everybody does their shopping at Walmart, keeps to themselves inside their truck, and leaves their pee bottles and bags of trash laying in the parking lot because they're too friggin lazy to walk their fat rear ends inside to use the facilities or to find a proper trash can/dumpster...all without spending a dime at the truck stop.

And people wonder why they feel the need to charge for parking?

 

exactly right- its a shame anymore...

 

Mostly because the pay hasn't kept up with inflation and the cost of living. Of course, with ELD's, I spend the night at shippers and receivers now.

 

Thats true too......

But If drivers can't buy Dinner and Fuel at the truckstops they stay at- I'd be angry too as the truckstop owner.

Besides- If you cant Afford at least 1 meal per day at a truckstop.......Go drive an RV or bus then,
i get it- Healthy this or that-whatever- The Fast Food at what I like to call the "Mega" truckstops (Pilot flying hook,lovers) isnt much better.

Drivers- Please start supporting your Truckstop you choose to stay at- Go in-Sit down-Relax- Have a cup of coffee-Eat a Steak- Have Conversation. Develop friendships......
