Spoke with a tanker driver at a truck stop recently who told me pulling jet fuel pays more than gas/diesel, any truth to that. Only one company in my neck of the woods that’s hauls jet fuel to the best of my knowledge.
Jet fuel hauling pay

Reason for edit: phone keyboard problems as always -
No extra pay in the New England area either. It all comes from the same racks where we get all other fuels. It could be based on his company perhaps but I have never heard of it

Same in CA. It didn't pay differently. To check for contaminants you put a little fuel in a ceramic lined bucket from each tank. If you're required to do this bring an extra pair of clothes. Sooner or later it will get you.

IMO the rates are low, at least in the northeast going to the military bases.
-
Yup, rates suck. The companies have low bid the rates into the ground. Lowest bidder gets the work....
And anything steady to a civilian airport is even worse..... -
well you can’t believe everything you hear. I don’t see why it would pay better.
-
Airlines are always doing everything they can to cut costs, and that includes the price of fuel and getting it hauled. Civilian jet-A paid the same rate as auto gas back when I was fuel-hauling.
Also, the rates for military JP-8 really do suck. You'd think it would pay well, considering how much money the govt (over)spends on everything else. The only possible exception to that may be that special stuff they use for jets like the U2 that fly at very, very high altitudes.Last edited: Feb 23, 2019
