I have been looking at schools online and I am leaning towards Jersey Tractor Trailer Training in Rutherford,NJ. I attended their CDL permit class that was offered. It lasted close to 3 hours with videos that had questions from the General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination exams. I left that day with a good feeling about the school and the information that they provided me (free of charge). If anyone is willing to post their experiences with this school it could make my decision that more easier to make. Thanks...

personally i attended Smith and Soloman after visitng 4 schools
I am a recruiter for Trans Am now and when I am in NJ find them to be the most professional of schools I go to
that said I have no knowledge of that school in rutherford
Good Luck in what ever you decide -
Thanks for the response transam... What information do you get about the students from the schools that you recruit at?
-
if you mean what info do i tell them
most of it is on the trans am website -
Smith and Soloman ..................is a joke. You might have 8 or 9 drivers WITH ONE TRAINER and get 15mins. of drive time a day.
meanwhile your waiting in the yard for hours....
More then a few people who went there told me this. I went to superior tractor training out of toms river...we only had 3 students per trainer...a lot of drive time.
A while back I did a two day refresher with jersey tractor. They do give one on one training. which is good and bad ... when you observe other drivers making mistakes you learn a lot more. By the way jersey tractor promised me the moon and said they could get me a great local job. Dozens of phone calls to them proved they could not. "Ye old bait and switch". Got a GREAT JOB ON MY OWN.
Just my 2 cents all the best to ya!!!! -
well i saw enough of superior when i went to the yard and the front bumper of one truck was tied on with a piece of rope
personally the lakewood nj smith and soloman location had 10 students 2 trainers when i was there
2-3 hours of driving a day
just my experience everyones is different
but mine is direct knowledge by personal experience
not other drivers BS
it is a given that all schools except the community college driving courses only teach you enough to get a license -

no i had 13 years driving only a million years ago before i got old been back 2

I signed up today with Jersey and I am looking forward to getting my permit within the next week or so. They supplied me with 250 questions on a flash drive to help me prepare for the CDL permit tests. I ended talking to another student who took the General Knowledge test but didn't pass. He told me that the questions that he didn't know were not on the flash drive supplied to him. Does anyone know of any good websites to study from?

there are practice tests right here at the top of the page
ClassB Thanks this.
