I worked for this company for almost a year and a half. I was promised lots of things before I hired on and even after I hired on. These promises were empty and never happened. I was lied to about my pay, where I would be running, the cost of my insurance, dedicated runs that never happened (numerous times), and just things in general. This job was a hassle from the beginning. The trucks were less than desirable. They stayed in the shop constantly. If DOT had stopped me, I would have been shut down many times. As far as maintenance goes, this company is reactive instead of proactive. The manager over the fleet tells you what you want to hear in order to keep you working there. When I left this position, he didn't thank me for my service, and I was required to get my own transportation home. Upper management people are good. They do try to help you where they can. This company hauls lots of brokered freight. They get loads that other companies don't want to haul. I would recommend to steer clear of these people.

Talk is cheap.drvrtech77, pattyj and warturkey Thank this. -
Bigjoel, you know cheap promises are seldom made in writing, and if they are, they are written to be as meaningless as possible by a lawyer.
To the OP, thanks for posting your view on the company named, and I hope you find or have found something that suits you better, stay safe.aiwiron Thanks this. -
Thanks to both of you. It was just a mistake going to work for these folks. I have found a job i have been trying to get for several years. Thanks again for the post.

How do you know they "get loads that other companies don't want to haul"? VERY interested in how you would know that as you are neither operations or management. Even then they wouldn't know if other companies wanted that freight or not. This should be good.

I have been pulling Bulk Tankers for Foster for 15 months. no problems here. I get home when I want to be home, preplanned loads 90% of the time, get plenty of miles. Guy is right about the shop though. If you get stopped and shut down, it's your fault. I have repairs made when I am out and away from the yard and have never been questioned about it.

As far as repairs are concerned...if they're going to violate dot regs or cause a safety hazard...they will fix the truck at the shop where I'm at more likely a TA or something to that nature or truck doesn't get moved...period...when it comes to legal road worthy equipment...I the driver am the boss and I say when will roll safely....ultimately it comes back on my record if I get stopped and cited for dot violation.
bigdogpile and lonelyswmtrucker Thank this. -
I may not have gotten the proper message across with my earlier post. They don't violate DOT Regs, if you have maintenance issues while you are away from the yard, they have no problem with drivers having repairs made. They have some old trailers, but they are being replaced with new or refurbished trailers on a weekly basis. Foster treats me very well, they have never questioned me about repairs being made when they need to be made.

Good luck to the Foster driver that has been employed 15 mo. Keep on " peppering the gumbo" and you will be just fine. As far as the broker loads, they do a lot of the truck air unloads that take 2-4 hours to unload, they haul a lot of products ( water treatment products) that other companies do not want to haul, not to mention the half a day you lose at the tank washes when you empty out at a whopping 20.00. If you are an o/o you do very good with the company. i made $40,000 IN A YEAR with these folks as a company driver. That is a joke.
