JB Weld on an air tank?

Heard someone talking about this the other day and was wondering if that would work. He seemed to have a small hole or slit on the tank that he was going to put JB Weld on. Will it actually hold with the air pressure?

i've used it for a gas leak on a motorcycle fuel switch. and holes in the mufflers.

clean the area up. i don't see why it wouldn't. that stuff gets HARD.

Although JB Weld is a must have in the shop right beside the duct tape, but I wouldn't want to use it on an air tank. I'd replace it if it were mine and if not able to do that I would clean it real good and weld it, even if it means taking it off to do it.

    x2!

No way on the JB weld, and I also wouldn't waste the time prepping and welding the tank. Like Pablo said if it's got one hole that's just the first of many to come soon.

Ive always tried to use JB weld as a temporary repair on stuff like that.

JB weld is great stuff, I use it all the time on small projects, and stuff like that. I think with an air tank if I wasnt going to replace it, I would weld er up.

You can weld on an air tank but if it is of any age it will disintegrate when you touch it. Do not attempt to weld it on the truck, and be sure you have a tank sourced.
JB weld might work if you could get it on the inside, also if an inspector saw JB weld on the tank you would be out of service.
    Just a thought!

Yep, like the others said, a pin hole is usually due to rust. The integrity of the tank has been compromised as the rust will be everywhere. Replace the tank.
