JB Hunt

JB Hunt is just another crap mega, IMO. They're headquartered here in Arkansas. They pull everything from containers to flatbed to dry box to reefer to even log haulers. I don't know if you can make 90k or not, but I'd key in on the recruiter's words, "can make", carefully. They didn't say you WILL make. Big difference. Tell them to put "will make 90k a year" in writing and you'll jump.

 

be forewarned that any mega carrier "dedicated account" has most likely had 500 other poor souls that month, doing that dedicated account...and they all quit.

you WILL go into tiny strip malls, corner stores, that are on the street, you WILL double park, you WILL unload yourself, cuz the store WILL NOT have enough people to help you.

you WILL have to pretty much hurry up and go to your next stop.

ever hear of CVS pharmacy.?? go out with 1 full trailer, make deliveries and go back for another trailer...i don't know the Peto account, but be forewarned.......dedicated for some carriers is BS.

 

JB hunt called me and said I would make $120,000/yr lol. I blocked their number and they kept harassing me with several other numbers I had to block also. They are complete liars. If they were paying that much they wouldnt have to harass me.

 

Sounds like cable tv lol….

 

One of my friends went to work for them as a recruiter. He tried his best to get me on their dedicated tanker route around where I live. I knew what it was, hauling chicken feed to the farms. I tried my best to get him to understand how crappy Hunt was. He quit after about 6 months. He called me to tell me I was right about them. I took the high road and refrained from the old “I told you so…” routine.

 

I worked for JB long enough ago that I actually met him a couple of times. He was shifty, and so is his company. At least they aren't still running 9670's with a 300 Cummins and a 7 speed anymore....

 

I kind of feel like a jerk bad mouthing jbhunt because they were actually pretty good to me but.... they will micromanage you to death and now that they have inward cameras I can only imagine the harassment.

They do not participate in dac anymore, a plus, but they will foul your record on intelliapp. In my case, I had a gate arm come down on my hood due to malfunction. I even got a letter from gate card stating it was gate malfunction and not the first time that thing had done it, but jb made sure it showed up as an "incident" on record. I have to produce that letter every time I talk to potential employer, which gets it dismissed instantly, BTW.

Also, reduce "can make up to" pay by at least 25%.

There. I said it.

 

I would ask what bonus figures that recruiter is including in his "could make" analysis. Usually those bonus numbers are sometimes hard to meet to obtain the bonus they mention. I have never counted on any of that bonus junk in figuring my income.
