I've been searching a lot of mixed reviews on JB Hunt and quite frankly, it makes me nervous.
To be transparent, the offer I received is:
Target drop and hook account
59cpm (1450 weekly average)
$50 d&h (8 to 9 per week)
$25 per 15 mins for live unloads (no touch freight)
They claim 1500/wk average and 80k yearly average. Home daily.
Question is.... is this accurate or no? Alot of people say (forums and youtube) they run 70hrs but only bring home 800-1000 per week. I don't want to go hoping to achieve that average of 80k only to be lied to.
Trying to make an informed decision. Anyone who worked for JB Hunt please chime in. Thanks.

Gross and Net are never the same. Your comparing apples to oranges.
1500 is average pay (gross). Tho if they are taking w-4 out of you. Net will be less. Most of these companies expect drivers to fleet lease. The actual take home (Net) is less after deductions. 70 hours is normal for any trucker. There is no overtime. We dont get paid hourly except for what the company pays (if they pay) for unloads.
The 80k is likely to be if you have worked there a couple of years. Simple math, presuming you dont take time off. $1000 per week Net x 52 is only 52k per year.
Gross 52 weeks x 1500 = 78000 (before taxes and deductions)
Maybe you want to hear from @Chinatown to find out other options before you jump. He will need to know what area you live or plan to work.N00bLaLoosh and Fastbreakstar22 Thank this. -
Just remember your not hired until your assigned a truck at the end of orientation.

First off. Do you have your CDL?
How many months have you driven (if any)?
Where do you live? IE Town/State.
Also there are still areas where some companies wont hire. So beware of that as well -
I think @UturnGirl has worked for JB Hunt on a dedicated account.

Recruiters say a lot of things. Who knows (unless they’ve worked on that account) if the numbers are accurate or not. One red flag is you are nervous. Listen to your gut man. Mine rarely fails me.
Just speaking for myself, the second I read JB Hunt I would’ve passed. To me they’re just another crap mega. YMMVT.Rucker Thanks this. -
If you can wait 3 more months, Martin Brower will hire you. The pay looks right for food service drivers.
