I’ve seen ads on Indeed in my area in the past, though currently they’re only hiring in the WI area. They claim “no experience, no worries, we will train you”. The ads state they are often first responders to nature disasters, though I thought they were fuel haulers.
Anyone know anything about them? Can they be good to work for to get hazmat experience at least? I believe it’s another job that’ll have new drivers start out on nightshift.

It's ironic to see this post and your good fortune as i was just speaking to my Jacobus refueler two hours ago who dispatches out of Madison, WI. I've spoken to three different refuelers from same company over the last three years and they don't hate their jobs at least but it's like any job. You will understandably come in on the low side with no experience but you could do ALOT worse! Most Mega OTR drivers dont make what they do starting out. Solid year around work with construction/farming season being the busiest as they refuel that equipment. With that said it can be physically challenging as your climbing on top of equipment to refuel. You only need a cdl-b w/hazmat so no OTR training to drive a semi. Even farms here cant touch you without six months of experience.
Those three drivers undoubtedly from the same dispatch yard (same trucks) all claim 50-60 hr work weeks on average and they get time and a half. Both unheard of perks for a new guy and especially in trucking.
I was getting info for a family member who is sick of KAG and their 14 hour days.
Good luck to you, we need some southern folk up here who can handle these stupid 90 degree days like today. Beware of our Winters though, lol. My time to shineZonno Thanks this. -
I grew up just west of Madison, did business with, and at times competed against Jacobus Energy back in the day.
Being in Texas now over 10 years, on a 90* day, I am looking for a long-sleeved shirt to wear.Zonno Thanks this. -
There seem to be loads of dump truck driving positions, which is what I’m currently doing. I imagine I could easily land a job doing that with the experience I have, then look for something hauling fuel a bit later. Many of those dump jobs are seasonal, which is probably why they’re always hiring. -
Those fuel company jobs like your CLI thread want you to have recent tractor trailer experience and roll offs, dumps, quads, garbage trucks and school buses don't cut it.
Get the CDL-A experience and CDL-B doesn't matter as much. If you have only CDL-B experience the good CDL A jobs will go to other candidate assuming there are any qualified.
Yes, many end dump jobs are seasonal road/construction here. We only get 7-8 good months out of the year for concrete work and asphalt gets real pricey and finnicky from October to March.
You wanna work like a dog? There's always farm pickup?Zonno Thanks this. -
worst company I ever worked for. don’t listen to any of the lies they tell you

It wasn’t the fault of the people in Atlanta running it; they did a great job. It was Jacobus corporate that was the problem so id imagine its bad everywhere. -
I never worked for a big company that was great.
I never got health insurance from a small company that was good.
Always a trade off sadly.
