I am a student in training at J&R Schugel, I am scheduled to test out on Monday. I am wondering if anyone has went through this process with Schugel recently and could offer some advice on what to expect. I know there will be another road test like I did in orientation but not sure what else to expect.

Maybe @RogerThat72 can help you, I think it's been a couple years since he worked at schugel.

I'm assuming you being a student in training means you have been on the road with a trainer for a few weeks, right ? So your "test" will be a little more intense that the one at orientation since you now have a few weeks behind the wheel. You don't need to be perfect, but you do need to NOT CURB TIRES, get the trailer into the dock with-in reason, minimize gear grinding etc. Good luck

Yes, I was on the road with a trainer for 4 weeks doing 97% of the work during that time. I figured it would be a little more intense than the first road test, I was just sure. I like to know what is coming at me so I can be prepared.

In MN I went out on 14, then came back by the hotel they have I think its a Microtel....not 100% by that. They did have me take some tight turns but nothing serious. They will fail people I've seen a guy sent home when I was there. If you cant drive they wont hire you. they're pretty straight up people I wouldn't worry about it. you'll probably go out with the head of safety or at least that's who took me out. I'm pretty sure that guy I tested with is no longer there. He was replaced by a more hardened guy. I left before he took over.

If you're in Columbus I couldn't tell you.

I am here in New Ulm. They use the Econolodge next door to the Microtel now. Head of Safety is Donn Smith .. met him during Orientation down in Columbus ... nice guy. I just have myself all nervous about everything ... I need to relax myself a little.
