I've been receiving e-mails from J B Hunt. First batch was about their Power Only programs, then about leasing my truck under their authority pulling their trailers. It is a 95% drop & hook, 100% no touch, 65% percentage plan. Any thoughts ???? ????

I thought you had to have your own authority to haul there freight. They don't pay that great and they call a reload a backhaul on some occasions.

65% of freight hauling rates? Ouch at a guess...

65% = $1/mile or less. big companies could care less if u make ur expenses or not, so long as they are making a profit they could care less about u. just something to remember

They will tell you $1.63 a mile but with deadhead you will average $1.36 a mile on 250 to 300 mile runs..

That doesn't include finding trailer fee either. They expect you to drive all over to find one. It's a joke, run fast!

When my authority was active, I tried their power only deal when it was really slow around me. I went and hooked up to their trailer and the only loads offered to me were going down toll roads and not paying well enough to do it. Keep in mind I had access to their freight board from being set up with them, and they had plenty of loads going where I wanted to go, paying ok, but I was not given the choice to pull those loads. They will put you on their least profitable loads plain and simple. I ended up bringing their trailer back to them after roughly 30 miles round trip.

If you're not pressed for time and you need to get from point A to point B to pick up or drop off a trailer, it can buy fuel and pay for lunch.. Or you can bobtail and foot the bill yourself.
