J.B. Hunt 360 Insurance requirement increase

We did not log into a load that requires this increased coverage cost. We do specialize in secured freight transportation. However, we don’t increase insurance coverages unless required per contract per load. We do not haul HV/HR loads for J.B. Hunt which warrants this cause. Not that we aren’t willing to increase our coverage. We will do so if required on a HV/HR load. But again, the increase has to be on a load by load basis justified by rates being offered. We also don’t haul enough of J.B. Hunt’s freight to justify the add coverage. We have sent in a letter to carrier support regarding this matter.

 

Then the person we spoke with when we called, must have been mistaken. She told us we couldn’t log in due to insurance coverage being required that we must have $250,000 minimum in cargo insurance. She told us we would not be able to log in until we increased our cargo insurance. This is why I made this post. I will post an update once we have heard back from carrier relations at J.B. Hunt.

Again, the increase isn’t the issue. The issue is that we weren’t given notice and typically we only increase on contractual basis based upon HV/HR loads where the rates justify the added costs.

 

Update:

We contacted JBH again and this time we were told that the person we spoke with was mistaken. Cargo insurance remains minimum of $100,000. Our relationship will now continue with JBH as previously.
