I have egr valve leak. Leaking collant mixed with soot. I want to unplug the egr and see if the truck runs properly. The egr temp gauage runs hot or shifts really quickly.

Also on cold start the engine idles rpm keeps moving up and down.

Can anyone tell me which sensor i need to unplug. And where its located.

fast moving on guage, definitely exhaust back pressure sensor above exhaust and forward near water temp sensor, change it.

It will run fine with none of it but you may or may not have a check engine light.

For test purposes only the sensor is located at the egr valve itself.
