    Started smelling fuel and seen filter was pouring fuel out. Blew up filter any idea what would blow the filter apart? has new high-pressure pump and rail pressure valve.

    Did it blow the media out or just split the side?
    Fleetguard had a bad run of filters about 6-7 years ago.

    Please share photos of the failure.

    HP Fuel pump and relief valve have nothing to do with the filter failure as the filter is on the low pressure side of the system.

    any idea how much pressure is in the low-pressure pump. that part is old transferred it to new short block.

    I would have to look up exact specs. Only around 100-150 psi gear pump pressure.

    I have seen the large threads on the filter head get screwed up. Are you sure the filter is seating fully? It’s only blowing out the gasket?
