I wish they would have done all 6 of the injectors but warranty only allows them to replace the bad ones only. Hopefully it'll last. Heavyd you were right on, thanks for the input!

    Was the oilfilter really clogged?
Did that cause the drop in oilpressure?
Because i don't see how the bad injectors can cause the drop in oilpressure or clogging up the oilfilter.

A answer to those questions would be interesthing.

I was going to tell him to expect dpf problems very soon. With bad injectors, the engine would be producing more soot as it wasnt running right, as well his after burns would probably be weak if they were even working at all because his motor would be having trouble getting to the proper Temps for a burn.

I had the Doser Injector, DOC Catalyst and DPF filter replaced about 25k miles ago at Cummins under warranty. Bill was about $6,000 but I only paid the deductible for the claim. I'm sure it can't be all that bad right now. Also replaced the IMAP sensor after the injectors were replaced, it was really dirty and causing turbo lag.

Well Cummins explained to me that the engine was running at incorrect fuel ratio due to bad injectors causing the engine to produce excessive soot and clogging the oil filters. It makes sense to me since extra soot ends up in the oil always through EGR and piston rings.

    Bingo.

Get them to do a forced regen and see what the differential pressure numbers are after, should be less than 3 cause all that soot probably built up in your nice new dpf.

I know it can get costly, but if your engine has any age to it, I would have thought about replacing the other 4 injectors and paying for it out of pocket. That way you have all 6 injectors new and fresh, not 2 fresh ones with 4 worn ones. Labor to install them is basically free since they are already there.

    Andreybanyuk and daf105paccar Thank this.

Each injector is $800*4=$3,200+ whatever labor they would charge. I'm thinking I might just sell the truck later in a year or two and get a 2017 truck. This was just my starting out truck.
