Am a Schneider OTR tanker driver and I have had it...they either hired way too many drivers or they just ouright suck. Their planners are just terrible I mean really terrible. Am currently sitting in the middle of no where in Wisconsin waiting to pick up a load for close to 12 hrs which am not getting detention pay for. And the load only goes 270 miles. Arghhhhh
With that said, if I go to another company do I have to start all over again as a newbie? It can be either tanker work or not...I really don't care at this point. I just want to make decent money instead of 500 to 700 gross a week
Is three months experience enough to move on

No. You can move on. Do it.
Texas_hwy_287, Lepton1, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
They’re good at feeding you the money loads. So I’ve been told.
Short run = high rate
Long run = lower rate
Why pay you $400 to pull a load going 1000 miles that pays them $1400. When they can put you on a 250 mile run that pays $1000. And do it again tomorrow.
But yes, you can get another job.stwik, Texas_hwy_287, ulenie and 2 others Thank this. -
Try to stay a year. I know it sounds impossible and yes it blows mightily - you can do it.

I don't recommend it but I went with 3 months experience to a lease purchase. Steep learning curve. Depending on where you live the oilfield is understaffed by 30%
austinmike and Lepton1 Thank this. -
BigDog Trucker and SteerTire Thank this.

Do you live in San Diego? If so, Coastal Transport will probably hire you.

You don't want to be seen as a job hopper, on the same token there is no use staying at a place when you can be making more.
Basically make dang sure wherever you go actually has miles too. If you are looking at a mega, the recruiter is lying to you.
Heck, if you are dealing with a recruiter, the recruiter is lying to you.
What is your home location? Do you have any endorsements?
@Chinatown will be around to give suggestions if he knows where your are at.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Sometimes you just have to move on. But I always gave a company a chance. One chance.Chinatown Thanks this.
