Local USF manager told me this figure
.10 per case < 100lbs
.40 per case > 100lbs
2 per stop
.25 per Mile
Around 300 cases a day
How can you make money ???
Is this pay normal for US Foods?

No way youre only slinging 300 cases a day. At my place we go out with about 1k cases every night.
Mike2633, lagbrosdetmi, Cardfan89 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That 300 might be just one stop..

What every the pay is you going to be working very hard for the money. Seem like those Jobs or more unloading pay and driving is the easy part of the job. You don't see may overweight guys doing that job. Lots of exercise and working out unloading truck. But they say is usually good.

That's pretty awful.
US foods here is hourly (and only like $21/hour, shoot I can make $20/hour around here driving a dump truck), only PFC pays less.
but MBM had that piece work here
28c/piece (two wheeled in)
$3/stop (pfft)
and .39c a mile
figure a truck was 1200 to 1400 cases. A local run was usually $275 to $325 (12 hours) and a overnight run was typically $600 plus.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
When I worked there I averaged 700-1k cases. You have the choice on hourly or pay by performance. 300 cases maybe if it's a long run or layover. But senior drivers usually take that unless it's a 40-43hrs a week run. No money. If you have a light case route being hourly is the best bet. Also USF is the most unorganized warehouse as in loading pallets. You will dig more then the other foodservice companies. They had engineers come in and figure out it saves them money not to organize the pallets. Had a TM tell us this in a Driver meeting. If it's union that guy might be BS'ing you to get on board. People don't want to be on extra board. It's seniority base so everything is bidded on. Including vacations and pto. Good luck on getting a summer vacation for 10+ years. You might have a cake run then next bids come around and get bumped and then be on extra board or a run that starts at 2am. I had a cake route when I started got forced on it. Mon 2am start time, drive 4hrs deliver 300 cases over two towns 10 stops, layover drive another 4 hrs load up a backhaul and head back, layover, then get back weds morning, off til thurs night, deliver 500-900 cases around town done by fri morning off til Mon at 2am. I milked it hard and could only do 45hrs max. I started liking it then couple months down the road a senior guy wanted the easiest route coming back out of the warehouse so I got the bump back to the extra board. Seniority no matter what you get the bump. If a warehouse guy has more time in the company and gets his cdl he can bump you. Funny thing is nobody wanted that route for the longest. I got forced on it started to like it then got bumped.
Roadrunner 16 and Mpeng98 Thank this. -
You get Lao by hour that's extra. You will make 800-1300 a week and work at least 50-60 hours

Is the US Foods in Memphis union or something?? There's 3 guys who just flashed their paystubs in a FB group that showed them already grossing 33K for the year...
