I got my CDL in early 2015. It's just over a year later, and a background check revealed I have only a Chauffeur's license. Turns out, my on-file medical exam expired, so they had to downgrade my license to a Chauffeur's license. Fair enough. I haven't been driving trucks since I got my license. So I called Secretary of State (Michigan) and they told me I just have to bring in an updated medical exam and my CDL will be re-instated. Simple as that. So I was able to do that online by scanning the medical card, filling out the info from it... and BAM I should be good to go. But now it's 5:30 pm and the SOS is closed. So I can't verify it's actually good until tomorrow.
QUESTION: Is there a website that I can go to and type in my information that will bring up my license and will say I have a CDL now and not a Chauffeur's license? I mean I guess I could background check myself. But I was hoping something like this exists for free. I would like to see some evidence myself before I call my new company and say "Ok, it should be good now... check it again".
Is there a way to verify the status of my CDL-A online?
