I was having problems with reception in rural areas, and people said I just need a better phone. So I got a #### good phone. Then I spent 18hrs in a dead zone in rural Georgia last night. My tuck has never been cleaner.

Is there a way to boost my reception? I've seen devices that people can set their phones in, but I don't know if they work. Are they legit? Is anyone using anything like that?

There are 4g digital boosters but they really aren't as beneficial as boosters were for 3G analog signals

Storm chasers seem to have mixed reviews of them with today's coverage. If you're in a bad area with LTE, an appropriate booster probably will only help marginally at best. Especially with distant towers, hills, and lot's of trees

There are several threads here that discuss boosters

Also, a lot depends who on your carrier provider is and where you are. There are a few fairly large areas ("holes") around the nation where even Verizon phones are only allowed 1x service.

Such as rural western Illinois and central Texas, (away from interstates) and I have no doubt Georgia has a few dead areas too for Verizon customers

Boosters devices are available. I have a weboost unit. The company was wilson electronics, they changed the name a few years back.

The unit I have works. Been places that no one has signal but me. Take the phone out of the holder, no signal, put it back and get signal.

Years ago, the infomercials advertised a magnetic strip for a cell phone that claimed to be like adding a 3 foot antenna reception wise and also get reception in an elevator. Infomercials are never wrong.. RIGHT ? So I thought that was Genius and ordered one for $19.95 plus s/h and once it arrived guess what.... Did not do a dang thing, maybe a 1/4 bar more reception. I AM SURE SOME OF THE OLD HEADS ON HERE REMEMBER THOSE ?

Yes. Back in the analog signal era.
