Is there a price difference if I go directly through progressive or through an agent?

I've been shopping around for insurances and all of them are just agents that use progessive. I've been offered Berkshire Hathaway but I was denied. I'm a new venture too. Whats the best route to take? I'm leasing my first owner operator and I'm gonna pay for the cago/liability myself so I'm trying to make sure I pick the best option because I know the first year the rates will be high regardless. Future thanks!

You can't go directly. The agents are state licensed to sell insurance coverage, therefore you need to go through them.

They do but what I heard was they are pricing themselves out of the market on purpose, so it may be safe to say they don't. I got a quote from them that was outrageous so I wound up with Progressive as well.

Yes you can go thru Progressive direct. Just call them up and they will give you a quote on the phone after a few questions. For me it was 2500-3000 dollars cheaper than the agents we're quoting me.

    TallJoe Thanks this.

    We're direct with Progressive.

Setup proceed is easy and their service is very good.

You can add additional insured in about 10 minutes or less when you need to...

    whoopNride and TallJoe Thank this.

I had insurance from progressive from both direct and through agent (different entities). And through agent I had to pay agent fees which wasn't cheap.

I did not know about such a thing - going direct with Progressive. The first year it was a crazy quote from a Progressive agent - 20K a year. I have to remember that the next time when there is a renewal time.
