Does anyone know if there is a list of radio stations (for me -cities of the east coast) that have traffic reports several times per hour?

I have generally found the local AM stations have better and more frequent traffic reports.

As far as a list, never seen or heard of one but sometimes you will see a billboard going into a metropolitan area advertising a station that "has the most traffic reports" or "traffic reports on the tens" or something to that effect.

There is usually a list in your road carrier atlas. Your best bet would be satellite radio. They have weather and traffic for just about every major city in the US. It's great! We would put it on right before hitting the loop in Atlanta and we would know exactly which side to take! Good for weather conditions too. Plus the truckers channel gives up to date reports on weather and road conditions. Satellite radio and a CB are two must haves if you are going to be a trucker nowadays!

540 and 1680 am are mainly used by the DOT to report road and traffic advisories. CB is a hit or miss choice.. I was stuck in 5mph traffic yesterday listening to two trucker regail the world on what they thought of Swift, Werner, and England drivers.. like Swift, Werner and England drivers weren't listening.. when someone asked why the hold up they were ignored.. plus I think driver kick up the profanity on CBs

That was for the BIG powered AM stations and I was looking for that info the other night and noticed they don't put it in the atlas' any more.

when in the PA/NY/NJ/MD/CT/RI/MA area, 880 AM (in fact 880 AM *NY radio station* can be heard about as close to Boston..........and i was able to pick it up around the toll plaza on I-78 at the PA/NJ line....and another NY station is (1010 AM i think)....but its range isn't as far reaching as 880....

880 AM traffic every 10 minutes "on the 8's".......(8 past, 18 past, 28 past, etc,etc...)
