I just graduated from trucking school with my CDL A. I have to stay local because my baby is due in 3 months. I posted on this forum before that I was getting 0 job opportunities due to not having any experience. I was suggested to apply to CDL B jobs & thanks to this community I was able to find some opportunities!
My question is, will having experience in CDL B work be beneficial when I apply for CDL A jobs in a years time? I suppose it’s better than no commercial driving experience right?
Is Class B Experience Okay?

That question comes up on here often. Some Class-A companies will hire you and put you through some type of inhouse refresher course for Class-A driving.

Start off with the straight trucks and maybe jump into semi down the road.
There’s tons of places around Orlando you could try depending on what interests you..Zonno, tscottme, GodBlessTheUSA and 1 other person Thank this. -

Class "B" will be a diesel engine, and 3 axles and a 10/13 speed tranny, but, no trailer. Most anyone can drive a "10 wheeler" but hauling that 53' trailer and backing it is a little more harder.

Class B work will not help you with a Class A job. Coke turned you down, try Pepsi. Try any of the food service companies. Try the beer distributor. Try any of the grocery distributors. Try any paving/construction/crane erector places. Try any local manufacturer with their own warehouses and trucks. Take a warehouse job to get your foot in the door.
Go to your local fuel stops. There should be PLENTY of the smaller fleets around. In fact, there are more smaller fleets than there are megas. Smaller fleets have direct customers that they deal with and they will more than likely regional with a very short region (think sleeper trucks for local drivers.)tscottme, GodBlessTheUSA and Concorde Thank this. -
Did you already try with these people:
