I've pretty much only operated in WA State and learned what areas are nice to live in while still being close to a terminal. WA work is primarily port work with low pay and ridiculous hours. I'm looking to see what CA might have to offer, namely NorCal.

I live in socal, don't know about norcal. Lots of jobs in LA and the Inland empire. Very few companies out of San Diego which is the best place to live down here.

Inland empire is cheaper to live but not my cup of tea (think Modesto but dirtier, Visalia etc)

But if you get a local job most only top out at 1200 a week unless you get a union gig; sysco, usfoods, ups etc

1200 might sound like a lot to some but IMHO you need to make at least 2k a week to live in a decent suburb of Los Angeles/orange County.

Is that a joke, Lynnwood is ghetto as hell, next to Cudahay, bell, compton, the toilet of Los Angeles County

Some of the driver jobs in socal require you to speak spanish.

Come on dude, bring your surfboard down and we'll catch some knarly waves on the canal!!

There is a high end furniture manufacturer down there on Santa Fe ave that I have to go to.

Do not make a wrong turn in that town!! Very narrow streets with cars parked everywhere and people on street corners doin a whole lot of nuthin!

Kind of why I'm trying to shy away from SoCal. Cost of living is ridiculous and also overpopulated IMO. I love visiting, but couldn't really see myself living there. I like smaller towns and woods.

I only surf in San Diego and orange county. The beaches in la County have either small crappy waves or no waves at all and the water is super dirty

More job wise San Jose area is cool. I live in Sacramento and work for most isn't easy to find as far as outside of trucking. But, to be honest I'd love to move the hell out of this state. Asap
