I am a new driver I have the experience to work for ABCO just want to hear from other drivers if they are a decent company to work for before I decide to move over and work for them.
They do meet some of the things I am looking for in a company.
Any insight that someone may have is very much appreciated
thank you for your time and information
Is Abco good to drive for

Just as important: how much experience do you already have pulling reefer loads?
If none -- the culture shock resulting from the transition to reefer may (or may not) be a bit much for you...

I don't have any but they said they would train me on reefer. I do reside in FL just kinda looking for a good company -
No prev reefer experience?
Don't be blindsided by life in the reefer world!!!
Get used to being mistreated by both receivers, shippers...& security guards. The lumpers won't be much better.
Driver treatment at grocery dist centers is....for the most part....notoriously bad.
Pickup & delivery times will be all over the clock....on both days & nights.
You will thus no longer have a consistent, regular sleep schedule.
Sleep for you will mostly be a series of catnaps.
If you do decide to sign up with them -- ask about whether (or not) they train you how to use the "split sleeper" DOT clock technique. For reefer duty: YOU WILL NEED IT.
Also....ask if & when they allow the use of "personal conveyance". YOU WILL NEED IT.
Also....ask if & when they allow the use of "yard move". YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED IT.
When any of the above is taught/explained during orientation/training -- TAKE REALLY GOOD NOTES ON THEM. YOU WILL LATER NEED THEM.
Get used to sitting for hours at a dock -- waiting to be loaded, or unloaded (or both). Thus -- be sure to ask what their pay is for "detention". Usually that pay doesn't start until you're there on the dock for a couple of hours. Until then -- you're working FOR FREE.
If the above doesn't sound like your cup of tea -- look for other freight carriers besides reefer.

What city are you near in FL? A zip code would work great.
How much/what type CDL experience do you already have?

over 6 months experience so far I am getting close to my one year they said they would take me with 6 months experience
I know abco has a terminal in Ocala FL and I live near Ocala FL
just trying to see if their a good company to work for as most the comments about them on a few websites I have visited seem out of date
they said I could see something like 2500 to 2700 miles a week
but wanted to see if that was true
not a lot of company's in my area have a place to park a truck up at while on the road where I live wont let me park a semi near my home
they also seem to have decent benefits
they do
layover pay, break down pay
doesn't say anything about detention pay
and its no touch freight from what I saw online
I personally am not very good at looking into companies and stumbled on this website by accident decided to give it a shot and see what people saidnextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Tri Eagle Sales (beer distributor) is hiring in Ocala, over on 17th by automax. You might look in to them, decent pay, 4 day work week, not sure on the qualifications needed, seems to me though they hire with limited experience.

If you live near Ocala, FL....
a MUCH BETTER CHOICE....would be:
Terminals - DTI
DoT Transportation has a terminal right there in/near Ocala.
They will likely want you to have a year of experience, first...however.
Check out their website/job listings...for driver requirements.
They are easily one of the best in the industry.
