Hey, I have the patience for that. If I have to wait, I log sleeper berth and take a nap at $dollars per hour.
I'm not looking for a job, but if I was, I'd be looking for a OTR/coast-to-coast reefer outfit.

OTR is different. It doesn't pay as well as LTL. But this guy is a newbie and LTL isn't hiring. The hiring market when you got your job 3 years ago versus now is polar opposites. Don't screw up and lose your job because KLLM might not give you a shot if you do. If he wants to go trucking this job is probably about as good as it gets in current market conditions. Hell I remember starting out at .26 cents a mile as a rookie doing TL running OTR back in 2000. He could do much worse.

Solo and teams run coast to coast. Drivers choice; coast-to-coast, solo or teams.

55 cpm is really good for a new driver. The average experienced driver is making between 55-65 cpm. You'll come across some that go above 65 cpm, but that's truly few and far between. The real question is how many miles will they run you each week? That tells the bigger story. If you can north of 2500 miles, you have a great chance to see very good money your first year.

Yes because in OTR you gotta run a lot of miles to make a check. Regional companies might pay around what you're making but the weekly miles ran are cut in ½.

Roehl Transport's starting rate for reefer drivers is 53 cents per mile so I think 55 cents per mile is more than fair for a really good starter company like KLLM.
