    It has disc brakes?

    $400 an axle sounds right.

If this is for all 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes the parts and labor pricing would be significantly higher than that. At a dealer 400 per axle wouldn't even come close to covering the parts.

I would say in a professional shop you would be looking somewhere in the 2-3k range for the complete job with hydraulic disc. Now air brakes would be different. This pricing would also depend on if aftermarket or OEM parts were used.

These threads always seem to do nothing but start arguments until the final price and time is down to $20 and 5 mins.

In my eyes it's no argument. You seriously get what you pay for in this world. If I got this truck back from a shop with a $800 brake job I know 100% it's not done right. There is always someone that can do the job cheaper , but at what cost? Apples to apples?

Guaranteed the OP feels he was overcharged for services already completed. The question is did he get what he paid for? That, my friend ,is up to him to decide.

My comment wasn't directed at you. Yes, we both know that, but once you have been on this forum for a while you will see most customers don't think like that. I gave up giving advice for prices and labor times a long time ago because I was sick and tired of being accused of ripping people off or charging too much or taking too long. No body likes the higher prices. Cheap cheap cheap! That's all they want and care about it seems. There always seems to be someone who thinks the price and times should be lower, hence my comment about the arguments that are sure to ensue. Sit back and watch.

can someone let me know what just labor cost it would be to replace front brake pads and rear brake shoes or pads and possibly front rotors and rear drums or if it has all 4 rotors on a 2000 international 4700 truck with air brakes

2000 with air brakes should be drums on all four. Shoes and drums will ussually take 1 hour per wheel on the steers and around 1.5 per wheel on the drives. So 5 shop hours for all four is a fair price. Shop rates and brake prices have a very wide range depending on where you go and quality of the parts.

And if anything is seized you will pay "punch time" to get it appart.

Cost here is so subjective.....door rates, dealer verse shop verse private...oem parts, local truck store or white box.....age, mileage, etc.....

So if you want numbers call a few places as the techs on here know we cant give you an accurate price or even an estimate without seeing it wheels off. Now if the shop tells you 10grand im sure half of use would be happy to do it for a touch less... lol.
