I've never seen lights put on dashboards as you described.
What I have seen are satellite radios that are mounted on the dash and they have a blue color to control face.

I have to go with gears here. I cannot recall interior lights that are put on the dash, but there are satellite radios which are blue or reddish-orange. There is also the GPS's that many drivers have that give off a glow a night

:biggrin_2556: Years ago, my dad would be about talking about the lights on truck, since im 3rd gen trucker, i find it too be true , most drivers today put blue lights covers over bulds , so they can sit up at night to unwind from the days work of driving, some like them too be on most time , its a cool image deco dress up dodad type thing, much like the o/o did years ago too say to personlize there truck, , i got into lots of company trucks with buld covers on em, some say too put on red buld covers , like the army does too read maps better, then theres that one thats says blue buld covers , defere the headlight glare off the roadway at night, my dad told me this one, may he rest in the trucker haven truckstop,:biggrin_25524: Everett.

I used to have red bulbs in the foot wells inside on at night. Helps to stay awake and cut down on the blindness from the glare of oncoming headlights. At least that is what I found worked for me.

I have seen some blue lights on the A pillars facing out the window. Not sure on that one other than it's truck bling.

I've seen those made for the pillars for sale in truck stops, called Anti-glare lights. Don't know if they actually help or not. Maybe that's what the poster is asking about.:biggrin_25521:

yes--anti glare lights are bluish/purple--go on the pillars--i have heard guys swear by them but have never tried them--red interior lights on at night --they dont wreck your night vision as much as a white light--unless you are looking for something ,i cant asee a reason to use them

This is what I learned in the USAF. It takes about 20 mintues for our eyes to adjust to darkness The red light doesn't wipe out this adjustment and allows a person to read directions, maps, and such. Also the qualcomm gives off a greenish glow when the light isn't turned off . Some drivers for some odd reason think colored lights are cool.
