I have received 2 quotes for my new Authority, one from Progressive and the other Berkshire Hathaway the quotes are within two hundred dollars of each other. Does anyone have a preference over either one of these companies?

Does the quote include workers comp? Gen liability and umbrella coverage? We're having a hard time finding workers comp quotes that aren't as high as the new authority itself.

No workers comp. No umbrella. 1 million liability, physical damage,$1000 deductible, 100,000 cargo, 1 million general liability. All quotes so far are under or near $9000.00 year. Not sure if this matters but 30 years driving no tickets and credit scores between 750-800

I wasn't going to get workers comp i am just a one man show. My state doesn't require it. I wonder how many Independent owner operators have workers comp?

Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I will call my agent tomorrow. I was surprised how reasonable the quotes were, well $8,800 is nothing to write home about but I have been reading horror stories on here and other forums of premiums twice what I have been quoted so far

Berkshire is writing policies for new authorities now? Seems they're playing the pick and choose game just like Progressive does. When I was shopping around it Hathaway was refusing new entrants.

You can make your own certificates online 24/7 through Progressive. I'm not sure if Berkshire offers that. It's pretty useful for weekend and after hours loads if your agent isn't available.
